Sindhi Mutter Paneer

Ingredients:

  • 300gms paneer (cubed)
  • 1 cup green peas (frozen or fresh)
  • 3 tablespoons ghee
  • 1 large onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 5-6 cashew nuts(powder)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cream
  • Chopped cilantro for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them sizzle for a few seconds.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
  4. Add coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a minute.
  5. Add tomato puree, cashew nuts(powder) and cook until the oil separates.
  6. Add green peas and paneer cubes. Mix well.
  7. Add water and bring it to a boil. Lower the heat, cover the pan and let it simmer for 10-12 minutes.
  8. Once the peas are cooked, add fresh cream and mix well. Let it cook for another minute.
  9. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
